Diagnosis Of Abnormal High Or Low Levels Of Urobilinogen
To diagnose abnormal levels of urobilinogen in urine a urinalysis test can be conducted which will measure whether the level is normal, too high or too low.
Diagnosing Increased Or Decreased Levels Using A Urinalysis
Normal levels of urobilinogen in the urinary tract and in the urine from bilirubin reduction are less than 17 umol/l.
With a urinalysis a urine sample is collected during a 24 hour period or over a period of a couple hours which is most common.
The urine sample must be tested for urobilinogen as soon as possible to avoid bacterial oxidation from occurring.
